Reclaiming the city’s streets for its citizens, not only by night as its predecessor Night Vision, but also for entrepreneurial and business opportunities by day - from 12 noon to midnight on March 3 in Long Streets, Green Market Square, St Georges Mall, and other city streets.

DJ Krush takes on Cape Town

dj-krush-2.jpgDespite the fact that there are millions of famous DJs, producers and turntable wizards dotting the horizon, Japanese DJ Krush, who began pioneering his own sound in the early Eighties, stands tall as a larger-than-life figure on the international electronic music landscape.

The reality to of hosting a legend like DJ Krush didn’t sink in until the night before his arrival. it dawned on me that at 8am the next day i would go and collect one of the main contributing music factors in why i am where i am and i do what i do.
On meeting it was immediately clear why DJ Krush has the reputation that he does. what an awesome human being!! despite not being able to or wanting to speak any English it was still possible to communicate in somewhat broken English with his manager Asai
With some of the ‘famous’ acts we have met or hosted the more they have achieved the bigger pricks they become, but it seemed quite the opposite with Krush. At the age of 53 (if i understood correctly) he really does give off the ‘zen master’vibe.

The actual event went mostly according to plan. despite some sound volume issue’s, some thought it wasnt loud enough, others thought the quality in the venue wasn’t good. All valid. that space is terrible for sound, especially if one isn’t in the middle of the dance floor. As with all things you learn form experience..!
From Krush’s view he loved it, even hung around till the end to catch The Real Estate Agents who he was enjoying thoroughly.

As usually happens with our international guests, this city and its people really made an impact on both Krush and Asai. I think there really is a specialness that radiates from Cape Town and SA as a whole…

Please keep your ears open for more great musical acts to come in the future.

thanks for supporting..
