Sibot’s landmark album ‘In with the Old’ has been picked for a sub license deal from French label Jarring Effect. This will see Sibot’s work available through out France from the major music stores to niche underground outlets.

The career defining move comes from several months of negotiation between The Jarring Effects label boss Loic and African Dope’s top dog Roach. The deal not only benefits Sibot as a released artist, but Roach’s negotiations were on behalf of several Cape based musicians The final package as a triple disc release featuring a multitude of Cape Town Artists.

The Triple Disc Package entitled ‘Cape Town Beats’ features a compilation of Cape Beats with tracks from labels African Dope and Pioneer Unit with the likes of Ben Sharpa, Constructus Corporation, Felix Laband, Neon Don, DJ Dope, and many more familiar names. The other 2 discs are comprised of Sibot’s ‘In With The Old’ album and The Waddy Jones / Fantastic kill release ‘Mc totally Rad and DJ Fuck are Fuck n Rad’

To promote the ‘In With The Old’ release, Sibot headed over to France at the beginning of November 2007 with Mc Spoek Mathambo (sweat.x) for a 17 day national tour organized by Jarring Effect. The schedule saw them perform across France at various clubs and Festivals with an array of outstanding artists. Definitely worth mentioning are, Dragon Gas & Interlope, MSaayid of Anti Pop Consortium fame, and new our favourite artists SHY CHILD.

The new project with Sibot and Spoek entitled ‘PLAYDOE’ went down so well that offers lined up for a follow up tour between April and May 2008. This 6 week Tour, which starts tomorrow 15 April 08, will open up further doors for Sibot and for Playdoe (but more on that soon)

If you ever find yourself in France you can pick this 3 disc package up nationally at the equivalent of Musica…yes it’s true, we have found more comprehensive and supportive distribution / TV/ Radio coverage in France, than in South Africa.
