Sweat.X: Afro-electro meets old skool hip hop!
sSHADOWORKSs is proud of its latest Cape Town music discovery: an Afro electro duet destined to stun, amaze and thrill not just South African music fans but heads around the world as well.

Sweat.X
is the pairing of electro wizard Markus Wormstorm and top notch hiphop rap maestro MC Spoek Mathambo! Fusing the now sound of Afro-electro dance beats with old skool hip hop and pop, the Sweat.X sound is as cutting edge as it gets! (Whilst remaining relevant in a South African context, of course).

Sweat.X is putting the dance back in head nod. Mixing the art worlds of fashion and music, Sweat.X rides the re-emergence wave of neon rave culture with a heavy dose of glitch-a-delic-dance techno, sexified lyrical assaults, multi coloured sculptured clothing and a disposable attitude to match.

In just a few short months of existence, after receiving release offers from labels in Canada, New York, Berlin and UK, and collaboration requests from top hiphop rap acts like Infinite Livez (Big Dada) and Machine Drum (M3rck), the two have inked a deal with London-based label CitiNites. (The label hosts other cutting-edge artists like Gosub - Miami, Her Bad Habit – Detroit).

Following the ever increasing success of Cape Town electro act The Real Estate Agents and Cape Town creative outfit The Black Heart Gang, Sweat.X is another highly anticipated and ground breaking Markus Wormstorm project.
Spoek Mathambo initially made a name for himself through collaborations with MC heavy weight Watkin Tudor Jones JR (Max Normal). Since then he has quickly established himself as an independent force on the South African hiphop rap scene, incredibly adept at both lyrical composition and delivery; fresh fresh fresh!

Flexing his mighty production skills to bridge the genre gaps between hiphop rap, electro and minimal music, Markus Wormstorm has created the perfect platform for his MC Spoek Mathambo to deliver his most raunchy, off beat but on, and highly freaked MCing that fans of hiphop rap could ever hope to hear.
During June/July 2007 Sweat.X will be touring some lucky European countries playing gigs for Vice Mag-UK and even putting in an appearance at style bible Dazed and Confused magazine’s birthday party! But don’t believe the hype.
